Many cakes can be created SAME DAY and if you have a custom cake in mind, the sooner we get a picture from you, the quicker we can tell you! Please remember, the sooner we know, the better chance we have of making a gorgeous BV cake for you! Please note mini-cupcakes and dietary cupcakes typically require prior day notice. WE DO SELL OUT DURING THE DAY, SO PLEASE DONT DELAY. 

There are four ways! (1) ONLINE STORE, the fastest, simply browse our cake and/or cupcake collections, choose the size/flavour/custom options for your favourite products and Add to Cart - Select your preferred time for delivery/pickup in the cart then use our secure checkout to confirm your order. (2) VIA ONLINE CHAT every page has our little black chat bubble in the bottom right, click that and our team will be able to assist you 7 days/week from 7am-Midnight local time (Sydney) (3) CALL US - Out team is more than willing to assist you place your order over the phone during our opening hours (4) VISIT OUT STORE - Simply click Contact Us to find our current opening hours.

Yes we do have cupcake samplers (box of 5 Designer Cupcakes - in 5 different base cake flavours), to help you choose your preferred cake flavour.

No! Our online store products do have minimums, just based on what our clients have ordered in the past, but if you would like a custom size or quantity, simply open the chat window to discuss with our team!

Online and over the phone we take Visa, Mastercard, AMEX. Paypal and EFT facilities are also available. You can also pay with cash in our Darlinghurst store. Please note that all orders, excluding corporate account orders, must be prepaid. 

Due to heavy demand, we are currently are not offering cake consultations. Our online team can help with most questions you will have and if you prefer to visit our retail store to discuss a cake, we recommend Wednesdays or Thursdays between 10am-1pm.

99 percent of our delivery orders are delivered by 3rd party careful couriers throughout Sydney CBD and suburbs and all our products online can be delivered this way. We have transported very special cakes all over Australia as well.

Our 2-hour delivery pricing starts from $10 not matter what you order. Note we are ALWAYS trying to negotiate better delivery rates, but due to the super fragile nature of our goods, our rates are generally higher than standard courier rates in Sydney as special vehicles and extra care needs to be taken.

Please note OFF-PEAK Delivery is available for most of Metro Sydney. Due to the large number of fragile deliveries we will not consider your 2-hr preferred time in the cart if you choose an OFF-PEAK option.

Yes, you can select your preferred date and two-hour window for delivery in our cart or with one of our consultants, to ensure you get your order when you want it. 

Once you have added your desired products to the online store cart, you can select Pick-Up or Delivery in the cart and your preferred Date and Time for receiving your Black Velvet Sydney products. Of course, our staff can also assist via chat, phone or in-store.

Our retail store is located 2kms from CBD, just a few steps from the King's Cross Coca-Cola sign at 110 Darlinghurst Road, Darlinghurst NSW 2010.

Yes to all! In the online store cart page there are fields to enter the event booking name as well as the event booking start time, so our couriers will have no issue speaking with the venue staff when delivering your order.

We will send an order fulfilment email to the email address on the order when our drivers have successfully delivered the order. Note that some venues (e.g. television stations, hotels) require us to leave the products with concierge or security, in which case we will send the email then. If you need a follow up text message sent to someone, just let us know in the order notes of the cart section of the page.

We have successfully executed campaigns with over 500 delivery locations around Australia, so our team is well experienced and ready to assist in meeting your requirements at the best possible price.

Due to the fragile nature of our goods and customs/import restrictions on fresh food items in most countries, we do not offer international delivery at this time. Please note we can often recommend cake decorators and stores if asked.

Yes, we can work with your florist or ours to add florals to your cake by using food safe waxes to keep separation from the floral from inside the cake. We also have a range of floral cakes for sale in our online store.

Last minute? If you place your order online before midday or get in touch with us before then we can often have a cake ready for you in 1-2 hours. All our cakes are made-to-order, so unless we have a spare cake made, there will be a short wait to receive a cake.

Our cake prices are determined by the complexity of the design, decorations used and cake size, please let us know at the start if you have a working budget in mind. Typically custom cakes will start around $150 for a small 8-feed cake.

Our cake collection online is what we are currently offering. If you have seen a style on our Instagramaccount that you like, we may be able to accommodate your order with an additional customisation fee. Please send us an email at i info@blackvelvetcakes.com.au along with the reference photo of your preferred design so we can consult our decorators for a quote for you!

You can add a personalized message on the cake by adding Cake Board Lettering, Disc Toppers, or a Greeting Card. Feel free to choose from our Extras page. 

If you would like a customised topper, we highly recommend choosing or purchasing a customised cake topper through www.communicakeit.com. They are familiar with our style of cakes, and create something awesome to match.

For Cupcakes, you can generally choose any flavour except for cupcake packs that come in predetermined flavours. However, for Cakes, you can choose 1 flavour per-tier.

For schools and other institutions that wish to order from Black Velvet Sydney and must take dietary precautions for a large group of people, you may request a list of allergens that may be present in our cakes and cupcakes via email - info@blackvelvetcakes.com.

We do make Vegan Cakes, and LOW-Gluten Cakes, but not guaranteed 100% Gluten-Free, as we have ingredients are sourced from suppliers with warnings that traces of Gluten may be present. Contact Us via email if there are any concerns regarding celiac requirements.

We spend a lot of time sourcing quality ingredients and decorations from reliable suppliers around the globe to bring you our cake collection - believe it or not, it has taken many years to do this as suppliers in this industry can be very unreliable. On top of this good Cake Decorating skills are very hard to find - we have to balance our creative flair with what our team members can do each day given the strong demand for our cakes. Rest assured we are constantly and obsessively investing in training , machinery and tools to help us bring you our great tasting and designed cakes at the best possible price, with a strong service ethic to match!

Yes, we understand things can happen and variations may be required. 

Simply email us your order number and what you would like to change. You can also see our Terms & Conditions of Service,for reference. We will confirm all updated orders via email and inform you if any additional charges are necessary.

We are able to offer refunds if you need to cancel your order, by at least 3 days (72 hours) prior to the delivery/pick-up date. If your order needs to be cancelled outside of that time frame, we can offer to reschedule delivery or convert the order into store credit instead. Please note that refunds will be processed in the next 48 hours and will reflect your account within 7-10 days.

Last minute cancellation is only allowed within 30 minutes after an order is placed especially for next-day or same-day orders. Any cancellation beyond this 30-minute threshold would only be subject to conversion to store credit, or delivery/pick up reschedule.
